With seven washes or arroyos trending northeast to southwest, Tatum Ranch is within the Upland Sonoran Desert life zone and is home to some of the most beautiful native Sonoran Desert wildlife and vegetation. Elevation is about 1,800 feet. Tatum Ranch is within the City of Phoenix and the Cave Creek Unified School District. The mailing addresses are in the Cave Creek Postal system however.
